Fake Scanner Websites
Fake scanner websites display an imitation of the computer scanning process once opened in a web browser. After the scanning process is over, an exaggerated list of the detected "problems" is displayed to the user. The website starts displaying pop-up warning windows that force the user to download and install the promoted software. As a rule, such aggressive advertising techniques are used to promote such malware as trojans or rogue software.
Software provided by fake scanner websites is totally fake and fraudulent.
