How to Remove ZEDO Cookie from Your Computer

You can effectively remove the Zedo cookie from your computer with Exterminate It!.

After installing the program, run a scan to display the Zedo cookie in the Scan Result screen and remove this file. For information on running scans and removing the items found, see the Exterminate It! Help.

Please note, that during the removal of the Zedo cookie using Exterminate It!, the cookie is only temporarily removed and it will be automatically recreated when you visit the Zedo website again, or when you visit any other website that uses any of the Zedo components.

How Did ZEDO Cookie Appear at My PC?^

The following are the most likely reasons why your computer got populated with Zedo cookie:

  • You have directly visited Zedo
  • A website that you have visited uses some of the components (pages, files, images, and so on) of the Zedo website
  • A software application with Internet-enabled functionality that had previously accessed the Zedo website was running on your PC (in this case, the Zedo cookie will be saved in Internet Explorer)

Detect / Delete ZEDO Cookie^

You can detect the presence of the Zedo cookie in your system using the Exterminate It! Antimalware. This way, the detection and removal will be performed automatically.

To detect / delete Zedo cookie in Internet Explorer

  1. Click the Tools menu item and choose Internet Options
  2. Under Browsing History, click Settings
  3. Click View Objects or View Files
  4. Check if for the Zedo cookie is present on the list

    You can identify the Zedo cookie files by checking the file names beneath the Name or Internet Address column. The files will contain the Cookie: Zedo element.

  5. To delete the Zedo cookie:
    1. Select it from the list
    2. Choose Delete from the File menu

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options
  2. In the upper section of the Options window, click Privacy
  3. In the Cookies tab, click Show Cookies or remove individual cookies link
  4. In the Cookies window, enter Zedo in the Search field and run a search, or you can scroll down the list to check whether the Zedo cookie is present there
  5. To delete the Zedo cookie:
    1. Select it from the list
    2. Press Remove Cookie button

  1. From the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar choose Settings
  2. Click Show Advanced Settings... link
  3. In the Privacy section, click Content settings
  4. Click All cookies and site data... button
  5. Start typing Zedo cookie name in the Search cookies field and cookie list will be automatically filtered, or you can scroll down the list to check whether the cookie exists
  6. To delete the Zedo cookie:
    1. Hover the mouse cursor over cookie name in the list to highlight it
    2. Click X button that appears on the right corner

To block Zedo cookie in Internet Explorer

  1. From the Internet Explorer Tools menu , select Internet Options
  2. Select the Privacy tab, and then click Sites. The Per site privacy actions window will be displayed
  3. In the Per site privacy actions window, enter Zedo in the Address of Web site field
  4. Click Block

To block Zedo cookie in Mozilla Firefox

  1. From the Tools menu, select Options
  2. In the upper section of the Options window, click Privacy
    1. In the History group choose Use custom settings for history item from the Firefox will field and Click on Exceptions
    2. For older Firefox versions in the Cookies tab, click Exceptions
  3. In the new Exceptions - Cookies window, enter Zedo in the Address of Website field and click Block or Disable

To block Zedo cookie in Google Chrome

  1. From the Chrome menu , on the browser toolbar, choose Settings
  2. Click Show Advanced Settings... link
  3. In the Privacy section, click the Content settings
  4. Click Manage Exceptions... button
  5. Enter Zedo in the Hostname pattern (located at the left corner)
